I’m mostly back in action, as you can see.
What had happened was a piece of malware on my PC latched onto my login information for my FTP, and physically attatched itself to part of my sites script code, hammering the server with connections. My server was able to backup my database while I backed up my comics folder (content.) I had to wipe wordpress and completely reinstall the program on my ftp along with comicpress and all my plugins. My server then re-applied my database settings and I in turn re-uploaded my comics content.
I learned a LOT about how my website functions through this whole process and a lot about working with a remote FTP. Word of warning to the wise, if you use a PC, run your anti-virus/spyware/malware etc programs often. If you think you’re infected, don’t access your FTP as this could happen to you! (Or, use a Mac. I use both platforms equally as often to access and update this site.)
I’ll be restoring the look and design (perhaps a new design?!) in the coming week. I’ll also have new content going up shortly. Stick around, the REAL fun is about to begin!
