Here’s the finished art for my character page thumbnail for Amy! Thanks to Tibs for a super helpful crit/suggestion near the end that made all the difference!

I hope to start working on Miles very shortly and continue my experimenting with digital painting!

Production Preview – Character Page Amy

Hey all, I’ve wanted to start up Saturday/Weekend posts for a while now, but didn’t know what kind of content to put up. Then, whilst reading one of my favorite posters on Facebook, Colleen Doran, who likes to post her early and process-work, I realized people LOVE this stuff! Since I’m so busy this year with actually creating art, I figured I could use weekends to share some of what I’m working on while it’s in-progress! This week I’m starting with some smaller digital paintings I’m doing for the Characters Page here at RKDIA Comics. I’ve dabbled in digital painting in the past, but most of the time it’s been more animation-style coloring. Needless to say, I’m a bit rusty on painting in general, it’s something I haven’t done since college. The ease and speed of digital however gives me the opportunity to experiment again and re-kindle skill sets I haven’t used in a while without having to deal with the time consuming, messy and smelly oils I once used. (Granted, I do hope to get back into doing actual original painted art someday also.) Either way, here’s Amy, in-progress for her mug-shot(s) on the Characters page! From League of Legends, a game I’ve never played, here’s Draven. I don’t do MMO’s but I definitely appreciate the depth of world building and lore that goes into each one, even if I choose to not participate. Sorry for the blurry pic!
