Was feeling sleepy and dreamy a lot today, so I decided to do a quick landscape inking tonight! Foggy scene with lots of hatching and some solid brush ink blacks in the foreground. Enjoy!

So I’ve gotten a very late start to it, but here’s the first three pieces to my attempt at this year’s Inktober challenge!
I started off by getting myself into that game fan-art groove with Protoman, Aya Brea and Phantom Gannon! I tried to do a different approach to each inking, increasing the contrast as I went along.
The goal is to draw and ink one drawing per day throughout the month of October! I have been away from the drawing table over all for quite some time this year. I’m hoping to use this challenge as a way to re-familiarize myself with the joy of drawing something, anything, to completion every single day. I will be streaming this adventure on my Twitch Channel every Monday-Friday from 7pm-9pm (or there abouts, sometimes earlier, sometimes later) and Saturday afternoons will be longer casts (unless I have something planned ahead of time and I can’t!)
I’ll definitely have times where I’ll have to double and triple up, much like these first three days, but as long as I keep pace during the work week, I think we’ll all have a great time!

One of the best feelings in all of gaming as a kid was releasing a fully charged spin attack in the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on a group of enemies closing in around you!
And with that…we’ve reached the end! One year’s worth of sketch cards courtesy Beyond Mode 7’s successful 2014 Kickstarter campaign! I hadn’t drawn that much in such a short amount of time in a long while when the fundraising ended and backer rewards needed to be filled. I’m super proud of all the different characters and styles and experimenting I got to do while working on these and I hope to continue to create more of these for fans in the future!

I hate the way these little guys actively moved away from you in Mario 64. So much easier to get in the 2-D platformers!

The nameless hero of Secret of Mana, which was my very first JRPG ever when I was growing up. Hiroki Kikuta’s musical score is absolutely timeless and those tunes are still stuck in my head today!

While much more effective at close range with his Saber, Zero’s got some ranged weaponry at his disposal, should he need to rescue X from Vile’s evil clutches again.

Just a quick sketch card this week as the next page of Citadel is once again delayed as I prepare for this weekend’s Vermont Comic Con! I’ll be tabling with a group of Vermont Comic Creators featuring the likes of Gregory Giordono and Michael Waggoner as well as other near-by friends such as Jesse DuRona and Blair Shedd!
If you’re anywhere near the Burlinton, VT area, come by this second-year show and see how much it’s grown and check out some awesome guests, comics, cosplay and other fun things!
