Happy 2019!

A new year means a fresh start for everybody, including me! I’ve taken a long 2+ year hiatus from Citadel and a lot of art work in general, however after several months of planning and organizing, I hope to return to comics-making in earnest this year…starting immediately! I hope you enjoy my annual holiday illustration with this post, obviously inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A year on from the release of it’s final DLC pack, it’s still an inspiring game to me and I think about it frequently, even if I’m no longer booting it up regularly.

My wife and I have had many adventures this past year including my first ever trip overseas to her homeland, Thailand! I picked up much inspiration on the journeys we’ve had and the adventure now continues, hopefully on paper as well as in life!

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Charged!

While much more effective at close range with his Saber, Zero’s got some ranged weaponry at his disposal, should he need to rescue X from Vile’s evil clutches again.

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Elegant and…?

What secrets hide behind that cool, elegant facade?

Just a quick sketch card this week as the next page of Citadel is once again delayed as I prepare for this weekend’s Vermont Comic Con! I’ll be tabling with a group of Vermont Comic Creators featuring the likes of Gregory Giordono and Michael Waggoner as well as other near-by friends such as Jesse DuRona and Blair Shedd!

If you’re anywhere near the Burlinton, VT area, come by this second-year show and see how much it’s grown and check out some awesome guests, comics, cosplay and other fun things!

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Another Man made of Metal

Another Mega Man series sketch card! Blue and Gold is a real classic combination, this is a way more fun application than my high school colors though!

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Flame On

Here’s a fiery Bowser sketch card I did, I believe, for Scott Baer of the Lost at Home Podcast. Give it a listen, it’s hilarious and thought provoking, and you’ll get to hear some very unique guests on the show! Scott is also the second half of Green Mountain Graveyards which focuses on artistic photography of the many, old, and very interesting graveyards found throughout our home state of Vermont!

J is for Justice Full Color

Here’s the full color image of a piece done for the Law office of Jack Kaunders!

This went through many different coloring ideas before we settled on this more realistically colored, light-to-dark idea.

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Suit Upgrade

I sure hope Nintendo has a new Metroid game up their sleeves very soon…I’d love to see that franchise recover from the disaster that was Other M a few years ago.

Kickstarter Sketch Card – Eggcelent!

Another Yoshi, this time with a rather large Yoshi egg…how do they get so big so fast out of those things?

I was on Vacation this past week, thus the radio silence. I’ll have an exciting new post this Thursday and much more art soon!

Kickstarter Sketch Card -X3

A touch under-rated I think where the SNES Mega Man X series is concerned, 3 is a lot of fun, features some great music and should not be over looked (even if the boss explosion is WAY too long at almost 10 whole seconds!)
